CC Sabathia received at least four standing ovations from the 42,000+ sellout crowd at Miller Park Tuesday night (10,000 tickets sold in 24 hours) during his debut against the Colorado Rockies, which he won 7-3.
"I get riled up, I have to let it out," he said. And let it out he did. El Capitán Chorizo allowed just two earned runs on five hits for the Milwaukee Brewers, pumping his fist and screaming into his glove as he served up a nasty 96 mph fastball to fan Brad Hawpe for the final out of the sixth after pitching out of quite the bases-loaded, no out jam.
The reigning American League Cy Young winner even flashed a bit of leather in the sixth, snagging a Jayson Nix liner before doubling up pinch-runner Scott Podsednik at third, which he called an accident.
Sabathia was a bit wild though, walking five to tie a season high, which his new manager Ned Yost chalked up to nerves. In other Beermakers news, they've already sold out of CC jerseys.
Also, we are apparently sexy and opinionated. It's science.

Best thing to brighten up this state since brett favre.
The fact that Miller Park sold out on a Tuesday night says volumes about what CC can do for this team.
I'm shocked the great people of WI have even left their tv sets for a moment with all the Favre talk going on.
