Arizona Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb became the first pitcher to five wins Tuesday with their 5-4 victory over the struggling Barry Zito and his San Francisco Giants.
Webb, who had trouble commanding the plate last night, hit a two-run double to give himself some run support and improve to 5-0 with a 2.31 ERA. The 28-year-old righty allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, walking two and striking out seven over six innings.
Webb is no silver-slugging Micah Owings, but he raised his career batting average to .108. Way to go, buddy!
