Cleveland Indians righty Jake Westbrook was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a pulled side muscle, bringing more bad news to the struggling club.
On his fifth career trip to the DL, Westbrook is 1-2 with a 2.73 ERA this season.
The slumping Tribe, who have dropped their last 8-of-11, will look to improve on their AL-low .235 batting average Tuesday as they kick off a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Also searching for improvement is Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia, who is off to an 0-3 start. Captain Cheeseburger will face righty Gil Meche (1-2, 6.08 ERA) at 8:10pm ET.
Hmmm. It seems the AL Central is still stuck in bizarro mode...
1. CWS 11-7
2. KC 9-10
3. MIN 9-10
4. CLE 7-12
5. DET 7-13

I'm totally ok with those standings, since I know we can catch the White Sox. But your'e right, they are ass-backwards from what everyone predicted this spring.
Backasswards is right.
