After re-injuring his right knee this weekend, Brad Lidge is scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on Monday and may now miss the season opener. Try not to flip out, Phillies fans. After the first pitch of Saturday's batting practice, the spankin' new Philadelphia Phillies closer hobbled off the field when he caught a spike on the hill. Lidge had torn cartilage removed from the same knee this past October, and doctors are estimating a 3-6 week recovery time.
However, the 31-year-old righty feels like his arm is ahead of schedule and that he should be able to resume throwing in a week or so. According to skipper Charlie Manuel, setup man Tom Gordon will take over closing duties if Lidge isn’t ready to roll by Opening Day on March 31st.

The players always make it sound like they're fine - that's why there are so many recurring injuries. They're not honest with the way they're really healing, or not healing.
Maybe Lidge had a flashback to game r of the 2005 NLCS...
Or Game 5 if you speak English.
