Remember when everyone scoffed at Jimmy Rollins last Spring when he declared the Philadelphia Phillies were "the team to beat" in 2007? He didn't seem so crazy once September rolled around and the New York Mets completed the most epic collapse in the history of the game.Well, Carlos Beltran has officially called him out. First, the All-Star centerfielder went on and on about how quiet he is and how he really doesn't like the spot light. That's just him. Then, he busted this one out...
"Let me tell you this: Without Santana, we felt as a team that we have a chance to win in our division. With him now, I have no doubt that we're going to win in our division," Beltran boasted. "So this year, to Jimmy Rollins -- we are the team to beat!"Whoa, buddy. First of all, I'm not going to disagree, but you better play your little heart out if you plan on winning the NL MVP like Rollins did after his brazen declaration.
Beltran was so excited for camp, he reported there three days early, even though he probably won't be ready in time to play since he's still rehabbing from his October 3rd operation on both knees.

I will listen to this assclown when, and only when, he removes the Milk Dud that currently resides next to his sideburn.
For several years now, I've lived in the Philadelphia area and made it a point to make it to at least one Mets game at Citizens Bank, where invariably the Mets decide to wail and Phillies fans invariably boo and threaten me. Given that I am only slightly smaller than your average NFL lineman, I typically just ignore the threats. This year, however, I may just have to watch my back and wear a helmet. A Mets helmet, obviously.
