Mike Lowell Nabs World Series MVP

Boston Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell polished off an incredible October with a huge night Sunday, aiding his club in their 4-3 victory for a World Series sweep over the Colorado Rockies.

"I'm on Cloud 9. It's unbelievable," he said.
Lowell homered, doubled and scored twice during Game 4 and hit .400 (6-for-15) for the Series with four RBIs, three walks and a team-high six runs.

The four-time All-Star set career marks this season by batting .324 with a team-leading 120 RBIs, which is yet another example of a player kicking ass and taking names in his contract year.

With the potential to become a free agent, Lowell's teammates surrounded him after the game and let the world know exactly how they feel, chanting "MVP! RE-SIGN LOWELL!"

Lowell also earned a $500,000 contract bonus for winning the award. Way to go, buddy!

What's with the new protective eyewear? Old Tyme baseball players never need that to get with the champaigne. Guys the days are such whimps.

The "MVP" and "Re-sign Lowell!" chants are followed closely by one other chant: "Don't-sign A-Rod!"

So, Theo? How 'bout that contract right quick, mm-kay?
