Shaun Marcum Ends Season Under Knife

Shaun Marcum's impressive season came to a screeching halt on Sunday, as the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher will undergo surgery to repair a torn MCL in his right knee this Wednesday.

The 25-year-old righty was forced to leave the hill in the third inning of Saturday's 12-11 extra-inning loss to the New York Yankees after he began to feel pain in his knee.

After beginning the season in the bullpen and joining the rotation after the All Star break, Marcum was 12-6 with a 4.13 ERA in 38 appearances this season, including 25 starts.
