Royals Relief Effort

Paying your bills is generally a good idea.In light of the Kansas City Royals' financial trouble due to lack of ticket sales, the lights at Kauffman Stadium were shut off last night by the KCP&L Electric Company.

Its probably better that we weren't able to see the Twins lose last night.

Ha! Bert, always trying to think of ways to make the game easier on the pitcher.

wow...just wow. maybe if the royals could put a team together with a winning record more than once every 20 years shit like that wouldn't happen

haha, its hilarious

Andrew, did you even notice that you're a BLB superstar now?

That's hilarious!

Here's a fun game; theorize which city will eventually inherit the Royals!

I'm thinking "Las Vegas Royal Flushes" is a natural. Make Dan Quisenberry (sp?) earn that lifetime contract by being a greeter at the Bellagio!

I grew up one hour from KC stadium. They were a good team in the 70's and part of the 80's. The George Brett era. It is painful to watch the players they trot out now. Never let a Walmart guy buy your sports franchise. Everything is about the dollar. To me, a sports team should not lose money but it really should be about the effort to win, losing money notwithstanding.

You guys will swallow your words when the Royals contend next year.

Save for that last comment, there's so much ignorance and stupidity in this string of comments that I'm speechless with a log jam of insults. I'll save my breath and just mention that head-to-head, KC is leading MN 6-5 on the season. Oh yeah, and Johan's gonna look good in a Yankee uniform in '09. Lastly, Twins payroll = $71.4M, KC's $67.1M. Twins have 8 more wins but both teams will be resting in October. By the way, nice post-season trade-deadline push getting prospects for Castillo.

Ah, let me clue you two 'anonymous' commenters in on something: I never swallow my words. Pretty sure Lizzy doesn't either.

Good for KC for leading the season series against the Twins, who are having an absolutely horrible season. The Royals are still most likely going to have another 100 loss season.

Also, good for them for having Gil Meche as their only stable pitcher to carry a mediocre offense. But seriously, Good for you for having True Blue Tradition.

These two anons remind me of the guys that wear paper bags over their heads at Kauffman Stadium.

Their best pitcher, Greinke, has one of the lowest ERA's in baseball so far yet is 0 - 3. That is sad.

Glad to see someone who enjoys what they do. Keep it up!
