Ozzie Guillen Loses It Again

Following the Chicago White Sox 16th loss in their last 19 games, manager Ozzie Guillen was laughing like a mad man in the clubhouse, hanging onto his sanity by a mere thread.

Some people may find that inappropriate, considering 2005's World Series Champions are in very last place in the AL Central with a 59-73 record -- a miserable 16.5 games out of first.

During a four-error inning that led to three runs during the club's ninth straight road loss Thursday night, rookie third baseman Andy Gonzalez, making just his fifth appearance at that corner this season, contributed three of the mistakes, all on throwing errors.

This all comes after an expletive-filled fit of rage that followed Wednesday night's 11-inning, 5-4 loss to the Texas Rangers, in which Guillen called his team an embarrassment.

"Everyone in that room should look in the mirror and be embarrassed," Guillen said. "We've seen this since April... They're killing me, they're killing my family, our coaching staff, our owner and the White Sox fans."
On May 25th, his club was 24-20, just four games out of first place. But after going just 5-22 over their next 27 games, they've fallen completely out of contention and have let the Kansas City Royals ahead of them in the standings.

Moving right along on their current nine-game road trip in Cleveland and Detroit, they will either slide deeper into their hole or find a way to climb at least halfway out. Either way, it should be interesting to see how Guillen handles it.

What, are they seriously going to fire his ass? I mean, what will that accomplish - he took them straight to the World Series in 2005. I just don't see it happening.

Firing the manager since the team sucks isn't always the way to go. They can only do so much when they pencil in the guys for every game, they can't go out there and play it for them.

He should lose the facial hair, too.
