Esteban Loaiza Moves to Southern California

Righty Esteban Loaiza was claimed off Oakland Athletics waivers Wednesday by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The two-time All-Star is 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA in two quality starts -- his only two starts coming this past week -- in which he allowed three earned runs in 14.2 innings.

Loaiza, 35, kicked off the season with neck spasms. A month later, he was diagnosed with a bulging disk and transferred to the 60-day disabled list. He attempted a comeback in late-May, but tore the crap out of his right knee.

To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Jason Repko was transferred to the 60-day DL.

I'm an A's diehard and am not sure why we got nothing for this guy, except for a salary dump. He had two good starts since his time well spent on the DL. But, to get nothing for him at all. I guess this is a case of addition by subtraction.
