Jason Schmidt Goes Under the Knife

One day after landing on the disabled list with a sore shoulder, Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Jason Schmidt will undergo shoulder surgery.

In a season that has been a constant struggle, Schmidt is 1-4 with a 6.31 ERA in six starts with two stints on the DL.

Schmidt signed a $47 million, three-year contract as a free agent during the offseason. There is no timetable set for his return. Oops!
