Babes Love Chipper Jones
Atlanta Braves veteran third baseman Chipper Jones is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a bruised right hand after experiencing pain in both hands since a base running collision on May 11th.
He has missed seven straight games and received a cortisone shot last week, but noticed no improvement.
Jones will be inactive for the next week and did not give a prediction for his return. "I would have certainly thought that I'd be past this and pain free," he said. Come back soon, Chipper!
Related, the Braves will purchase the contract of shortstop Yunel Escobar from the AAA Richmond Braves this weekend.
Escobar is batting .333 in the minors this season with 2 home runs, 29 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 46 games.

God, I HATE Chipper Jones. Would people like him as much if he went by his real, adult name of Larry Jones? I think not. Great player, but his "good ol' boy" schtick is tiresome.
You take that back! I love him.
Chipper's a legend around these parts. I'd take that comment back and then proceed to wash your mouth out with soap. Then say 5 hail mary's. Then you might be allowed back around these parts.
It's ok. Some might say my Chipper Jones card collection is borderline obsessive. I probably need to be stopped.
I love the look on his face: "Pssh. I don't need this crap. I'm a future HOFer!"
