Five starts into his comeback from offseason back surgery, the Big Unit has finally admitted that he has been experiencing some lingering back stiffness. Obviously, he isn't 100% and isn't expected to be again.
This should sound an alarm for the veteran lefty, as he isn't getting any healthier... or younger.
Maybe it's time for the D'Backs to institute a pitch-count or limit his innings some other way.
Johnson said of his last start:
I don't need to go seven innings all the time or eight or nine. There will be nights where I need to do that, but tonight wasn't a night. It's too early in the year and I'm getting to where I want to be and I want to walk away from something feeling positive.[Arizona Republic] | [AZ Snakepit]

It'll get to the point where he really won't be able to pitch anymore.
Would we be hurling fastballs after back surgery? Um, no. Then again, we're not the Big Unit.
No. Sadly, we are not.
So I'm digging that new commenting thing, Sooze. Y'all are all fancy-like.
Yeah, those are pretty nifty, huh. Turns out, 95% of blog readers are lurkers, so those buttons are supposed to make it easier for those who wish not to comment to voice their opinions. Or something like that.
