Wright Lands Back On The DL

Jaret Wrights lands himself back on the DLJaret Wright has returned to the disabled list.

Following a history of arm trouble, the Baltimore Orioles placed the right-hander on the DL for the second time this season on Monday, with no time-table set for his return.

The 31-year-old has had a sore right shoulder for most of this and half of last season. He was activated Sunday and allowed three runs, four hits and three walks in three innings of a loss at Cleveland.

Wright has undergone two surgeries on his right shoulder, hampering what began as a very promising career in which he has ended up 68-60 with a 5.09 ERA. This season, he is 0-3 with a 6.97 ERA.

Kurt Birkins has been called up in Jaret Wright's absence.Lefty Kurt Birkins was recalled from the AAA Norfolk Tides in Wright's absence. Birkins pitched only once in his previous stint with the O's this season, giving up a 12th-inning grand slam to Detroit's Craig Monroe on April 11th. Rather forgettable.
