James "Buster" Douglas knocks out Mike Tyson to win the World Heavyweight boxing crown. The Super Nintendo is released in Japan.
At 12:34:56 (am and pm) on 7/8/90, the time and date aligned.
The year was 1990 and it was the last time the Boston Red Sox swept the New York Yankees. It seems this series will not be ignored.
On ten pitches from youngster Chase Wright, the Boston Red Sox nailed four straight homers, helping to complete a sweep of the Yankees for the first time in seventeen years.
Manny Ramirez, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek connected against the lefty in just his second (rather forgettable) big league start. Derek Jeter hit his first homer of the season for New York to tie it at 4 in the fifth after Jason Giambi drove in three runs, but the Yankees' bullpen failed - even with starter Andy Pettitte making his second relief appearance of the year.
Daisuke Matsuzaka had his worst outing in four big league starts, allowing six runs in seven-plus innings.
The last team to hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back longballs in an inning was the Los Angeles Dodgers last season against the San Diego Padres. The last American League team to do so was the Minnesota Twins in 1964. The Red Sox are the fifth team in major league history to perform the feat.

super nintendo stole my childhood, too.
Either the Red Sox are looking good or the Yankees are looking average. I'm not sure which one makes me feel weirder.
Both of those scenarios make me feel uncomfortable.
Nice walk down memory lane. I can't believe 1990 was 17 years ago already!
