He holds himself responsible, which sucks. I'm coming to his defense. As a five time consecutive gold glove winner and all-around hijacker in center field, he will make that catch 9/10 times. Bad spin, bad timing...whatever it was, it's over now. They can only come back and fight with everything they've got tomorrow. I've had a sick feeling in my gut all day. I'm so bummed for this team. But I still have faith! You know I can't give up on my boys.
I just read the article on the Twins website all about Hunter and that play. About them talking to Hunter, and what happened.
I have as much love and respect for him as I ever did. For this play I feel little. I don't want someone else out there, I want Torii. And from what I read, he had that ball dead. Sucks like you said that he puts so much of the game and the play on his shoulders. Just hope the team can help carry that load on friday and get this thing done.
