This year, Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire became just the third skipper in Major League history to reach the playoffs in four of his first five seasons. 2006 seemed to be the most challenging however, as he helped the club go from a craptastic 12.5 games back to winning the division, earning him a well-deserved, two-year contract extension through the 2009 season.
