Brad Radke is an Animal

They call me Big Guns.

The Minnesota Twins avoided a Tornto Blue Jays sweep Sunday afternoon (which would've been the first in history between the two clubs) with Brad Radke (12-8, 4.43 ERA) on the hill, throwing 7 shutout innings on 5 hits, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Man. When he is on, he is ON! The Twins returned the favor today with their own shutout, after being outscored 16-1 in the previous three games of this 4-game set.

Shaun Marcum (1-2, 5.12 ERA) picked up the loss after giving up 4 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings. This came after Toronto's starters went 3-0 with a 0.50 ERA in the first 3 games!

Um... is it just me, or is there a rash of Jays hurlers with mullets?

Minnesota's bats came alive Sunday, beginning in the second inning when Jason Tyner doubled to right field scoring Justin Morneau, which gave the Twins an early 1-0 lead.

Michael Cuddyer smashed a solo shot - his ninth - off Marcum bringing the score to 2-zip in the third. The Canadian Crusher went on to add his 103rd RBI on a sac fly before Tyner belted a run-scoring triple in the sixth. Tyner was only a homer shy of the cycle, but has yet to hit a big league bomb. Someday, buddy.

The Twins begin another important series (they're all important) against the division rival Cleveland Indians on Tuesday, in the second series of this homestand.

Twins' ace Johan Santana will be looking for his 14th win of the season Tuesday night against Jake Westbrook and the Tribe.

In search of his second Cy Young Award, Johan is an amazing 33-3 with a 2.31 ERA in 49 games after the All Star Break since 2003. Hot.
