Babes Love Piranhas

When asked about what it is that makes the Twins a contender during his pregame media session Saturday in Minneapolis, Ozzie Guillen said, "Everybody says that the Minnesota Twins are underrated. My God, that's a good ballclub."

He also gave props to the new kids. "They have three kids they don't even talk about," Ozzie remarked. "Nobody talks about Tyner, 'Ty Cobb' Punto and their shortstop Bartlett, and they're kicking everybody's tails, at least my tail. And we talk about Torii Hunter? The guys that are kicking our tails are the three guys with no names. That's the way it is, man."

Guillen will be happy to leave Minnesota today, and not come back until the last series of the season. "Let them go compete against someone else," he said. "The way they pitch, watch out. This team beats you so many ways. You wake up, they look like little piranhas. ... All of a sudden, you wake up, (looking down at his left arm) you ain't got no meat -- all those little piranhas. A blooper here, a blooper there, beat out a ground ball then the first baseman hits a home run. Then they're up by four. How the hell are they up by four? Then you're down four with that pitching staff; that bullpen? Sit down and look at the lineup. Those little piranhas."

"People worry about Mauer? All right, he's a good hitter," Guillen said. "But look at the little guys, they're on base all the time. Morneau has (106) RBIs and nobody talks about that guy. It's always Big Papi. How does he have all those RBIs? Because of those little piranhas."

That's right. Watch out White Sox.

To think of all the people to give us praise....it's Ozzie. In a way that makes me happy. And I love Punto and the Piranhas, lol. The Twins on TWIB was cool. As is the fact that there are so many fans that they might clear the right field upper deck!! Our team is the best.

They ARE the best! Yep, apparently Ozzie has a gentle side as well. Nice nickname for Punto! Ty Cobb?? I was like, holy crap! I'm so fired up for this Baltimore series, cause it'll hopefully give the Twins a running start into Chicago.
