Baldelli's Back

Up until Thursday, Rocco Baldelli had not played nine innings of baseball all season long.

The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder and fan favorite suffered from mitochondrial disorder, causing muscle fatigue and slow muscle recovery, stealing the first four months of his season and forcing him to become a part-time player.

Not So Bizarro Anymore

We've come to expect nothing but the best from the Tampa Bay Rays this season.

During Monday's 9-1 victory, righty Matt Garza held the Boston Red Sox scoreless through six innings, walking three and fanning five, to help put the defending champs in their first postseason deficit since returning from a 3-1 hole in last year's ALCS against the Cleveland Indians.

These Tampa Bay Rays are officially the best Tampa Bay Rays of all time.

The club enjoyed its 71st victory in the form of an 11-3 rout of the Seattle Mariners on Sunday to become the winningest team in franchise history. Tampa Bay's previous best record of 70-92 (2004) is sure to be shattered this season, as they've taken a 4.5-game lead over the Boston Red Sox in the AL East for their largest margin in over a month.

Also, Carl Crawford is gone, but Rocco Baldelli is back. Ya win some, ya lose some.
