Chicago White Sox Give Paul Konerko $37.5 Million

When Paul Konerko heard the news of Adam Dunn's signing with his Chicago White Sox, he thought:
Okay. Well, that was a fun 12 years. It's a him-or-me situation.
In fact, it almost ruined his vacation in Mexico.

Adam Dunn Reportedly Signs with White Sox

All the good "Dunn Deal" puns have been used, so I'm just gonna lay this one out for you.

According to Ken Rosenthal and just about everyone else on Twitter, Adam Dunn has agreed to join the Chicago White Sox on a four-year, $56 million deal.

The free agent first baseman, who spent the last two seasons with the Washington Nationals before declining arbitration, is probably grinning ear-to-ear with the thought of smashing longballs out of U.S. Cellular Field, a notorious hitter's park.

Put It Away, Paul Konerko

Holy smokes. Paul Konerko was on fire Tuesday night, aiding his Chicago White Sox in a 10-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Konerko nailed a career-high three home runs, including a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning. The hard-hitting first baseman, who's now enjoyed 24 multi-homer games, drove in a career-best seven RBIs to become the 12th player in White Sox history to hit three bombs in one game.

Tally those up and he's got 16 longballs with 57 RBIs and a .301 batting average on the season.

Good job, Paulie.

Back-To-Back Badassery

Chicago White Sox stars Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko, both just one longball away from their 300th career home runs, did the unbelievable Monday evening against their division rival Detroit Tigers.

They hit their milestone homers, back-to-back.

Dye hit a 2-1 pitch from right-hander Zach Miner over the left-center wall to lead off the second inning before Konerko went deep on a full-count toss to make it 2-0.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, these two became the first teammates in history to hit the #300 milestone in the same game, not to mention one right after the other. Our congratulations go out to both power-hitters! Now let's see how long Gary Sheffield's ugly mug takes up the space in the top-left corner of BLB.

Paul Konerko No Longer Virgin to DL

Nick Swisher is no Paulie Konerko.
Paul Konerko, who missed out on the brutality of Tuesday's 16-5 pounding of the Pittsburgh Pirates, has landed on the disabled list a strained left oblique muscle, marking his first career trip to the DL.

The Chicago White Sox veteran first baseman underwent an MRI after injuring himself in the batting cage Sunday.
"Right now, it’s painful to even raise my voice or even to laugh, or cough or anything like that," he said.
Konerko, who has struggled a bit this season with a .215 batting average, eight homers and 30 RBIs for the AL Central-leading Sox, says he'd like to be back after just two weeks. Wholesome teammate Ji-
Jim Thome hurt himself similarly last season and was out of commission for three weeks.

Nick Swisher, who’s pretty much awesome, made 13 starts at first this season and will cover that position until Konerko’s return.
