Let the keyword searches for "Shirtless Chris Carpenter" commence. (Thank you Nick Punto). It's amazing what seeing a man's abs can do for a girl...as if tossing a three-hit, complete game shutout to carry your team to the National League Championship Series in a must-win Game 5 isn't sexy enough.
Carpenter was out of control. Lights out. In command. Determined to pitch that entire game, and probably thrilled as hell that his teammates managed even one run off his offseason fishing buddy Roy Halladay.
Not to take anything away from the opposing Philadelphia Phillies ace. Doc pitched eight solid innings, but made enough first-inning mistakes to put that one run on the board while his team couldn't muster more than a handful of hits behind him. Man, that must be frustrating. Looks like Roy's gonna be fishing without Chris for a while, and how long will depend on how the Cards fair against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Game 1 of the NLCS is all set for Sunday with Jaime Garcia taking the hill against Zack Greinke at Miller Park at 4:05pm ET on TBS.
P.S. This picture of Carpenter and his trusty backstop Yadier Molina hugging it out warmed our hearts, so we wanted to share it with you in case you missed it. Awwww...

Wow, Chris Carpenter is now officially on my Sexy Ballplayer Radar.
THANK YOU.
The only issue I have with that shirtless Chris Carpenter pic is that Kyle Lohse and Matt Holliday are fully clothed. They should make a calendar.
It's pretty rare that I objectify ballplayers -- unless they're asking for it like Grady Sizemore and his Myspacey self-portraits -- but this picture was just too awesome not to post. And drool over.
Ah, that picture is such a joy ... and the shirtless part is all thanks to Nick Punto tearing Chris's uniform off. God bless you, Nick!
My friend Judy and I have been lamenting Carp's posterior for years, it's good to know his upper half is just a praiseworthy as the lower half!
Is Holliday's glove caught in Carpenter's jersey? I'm confused about where his hand is.
My favorite part is that they gave him a warmup jacket to "cover up" before his postgame interview. :D
