OMG Albert Pujols Hugged Jim Hendry, Cards Doomed

There are a whole new set of rumors swirling around Albert Pujols this week after the so-called "inappropriate" hug between two longtime rivals: the St. Louis Cardinals first baseman and Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry.

Of course, we don't quite believe him, considering he should be on the hunt for a new cornerman since Carlos Pena signed only a one-year deal worth $10 million back in December.

However, Hendry said the hug was nothing but a greeting between two good friends and they discussed nothing but their families, no business:

"I have a good relationship with Albert. We’d have that if he wasn’t the best player in the world. I told you guys in spring training I wasn’t going to be any different to him than I have been in the last eight or nine years. Great guy, great player."

Pujols said the fuss over the public display of affection was taken way out of context, calling it "ridiculous" and saying that "[Hendry] is on the other side and I'm on our side."

This is like... if Theo Epstein hugged Derek Jeter. Or if Ned Colletti hugged Tim Lincecum. Oh the humanity!

Just kidding. Brothers don't shake hands, brothers hug!

Anyways, hug or no hug between two good pals, Prince Albert still has some big decisions to make regarding his eligibility for free agency this fall, which would open the door out of St. Louis and have folks contemplating jumping off the Arc.

Pujols is batting .270 with seven homers and 24 RBI on the season... which is perhaps his last as a Cardinal... muahahahahaha.

This post disappeared for a while, what's up with that? Was it because of the commenter fight that was happening?

No, no, I'm a big fan of commenter fights. Our platform blew up on Wednesday, so I had to repost it and the Kendry Morales post on Thursday. So lame.
