Kyle Farnsworth Ready to Tackle Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays and Kyle Farnsworth are nearing an agreement on a one-year contract, according to an anonymous source close to negotiations.
The free agent reliever split up his time last season between the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves, going 3-2 with a 3.34 ERA in 60 games. Farnsworth, now 34 years old with all kinds of fun baseball action nearly behind him, has pitched for five teams during a 12-year career for a 34-55 record and 4.39 ERA.
Ah, Farny has given us some wonderful memories, hasn't he?
Remember when he punched Paul Wilson right in the face back in 2003? Good times. How about the time he called out Roget Clemens for not being a team player? That was awesome, too.
And let's please not forget the incredible Dugout recollection from when pr0FF3ss0r_F4rnsw0rth taught jewish_smores and Andraeiousometimesyw how to make a web comix. Those were the days, indeed.
