Adam LaRoche Gets Two-Year Deal from Nationals

Adam LaRoche and the Washington Nationals have finalized a contract worth roughly $16 million over two years.

After losing hard-hitting first baseman Adam Dunn to the Chicago White Sox via free agency, the Nationals attempted to fill that void by grabbing LaRoche off the free agent market.

LaRoche, 31, batted just .261 with the Arizona Diamondbacks last season, but nailed 25 home runs with a career-high 100 RBI.

He's hit at least 20 homers in each of the last six seasons, but he's no Dunn, who hit at least 38 bombs the past seven seasons, driving in at least 100 runs in six of those years. However, LaRoche is somewhat of a defensive upgrade.

The Nats did what they could with what they had to work with I guess.
