Philadelphia Phillies 6, Cody Ross 1

Roy Oswalt pretty much dominated the San Francisco Giants Sunday evening, going eight solid innings in which he allowed just one run on three hits with nine strikeouts for the 6-1 victory that knotted up the series at a game a-piece.

Not only was the Philadelphia Phillies right-hander electric on the hill, he also contributed a base hit (using Jimmy Rollins' hot bat) and ran directly through Sam Perlozzo's stop sign at third to score a run.

Rollins gave his pitcher a little bit of crap about his base-running skills:
That was comical. Roy’s got those stiff hips and he looked like he was cardboard running down the line but he got it done tonight.
Oswalt's one mistake: a solo shot to the somewhat-unstoppable Giants outfielder Cody Ross, who has launched three balls into the stands so far during the NLCS.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Sanchez allowed three runs -- two earned -- on five hits over six-plus innings for San Francisco. Busting out of a 1-for-15 postseason slump, J-Roll drove in four runs with a bases-loaded walk and a bases-clearing double.

The Giants will welcome the Phillies to AT&T Park Tuesday afternoon with a clean slate for Game 3 featuring Matt Cain and Cole Hamels.

Cody Ross has beena pretty great story so far this NLCS. Too bad the rest of the team isn't following suit!

Ross has been great yes, but you have to give the Phillies pitching credit, too. The Giants were lucky to beat Roy Halladay and Oswalt simply dominated them last night.

I was thrilled to see Roy run through Perlozzo's stop sign last night. Clearly, that guy has no balls. Look how well he did with the Orioles for christsake!
