The 2010 All-Star starting pitchers have been chosen.
Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has called on Colorado Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez to take the hill for his National League All-Star team. Meanwhile, New York Yankees skipper Joe Girardi has picked who else, but Tampa Bay Rays phenom David Price to start for his American League squad, which was pretty much a no-brainer.
Manuel's choice was a little more difficult, however. Florida Marlins righty Josh Johnson is rocking a big league-best 1.70 ERA with a 9-3 record, making him another deserving candidate to start for the Senior Circuit. Manuel had this to say about Jimenez, who is 15-1 with a 2.20 ERA and 113 strikeouts on the season from the left side of the rubber:
[Jimenez is] one of the great talents in baseball and he’s a treat to watch pitch.Tuesday night, the NL will attempt to end a 13-year skid in the Midsummer Classic and gain homefield advantage over the AL during this fall's World Series.
So which side will emerge victorious? Is it finally the NL's year, or will the Junior Circuit reign supreme?

Amazing first three-inning matchup! I have a feeling the National League will take it this year.
It looks as though this All-Star game will be won at the end of the game when the relief pitchers come in.
That is just too good of pitching for the first few innings. Even the big AL sluggers will have a hard time.
Even though the National League is due (probability and all that jazz) and they have a tough pitching staff and lineup, you can't argue with the American League's 7,8,9 hitters: Joe Mauer, Robinson Cano and Carl Crawford? That's a ridiculous amount of talent at the bottom of the order.
