Edwin Jackson just finished tossing the second no-hitter in Arizona Diamondbacks history, against his former team, the Tampa Bay [Devil] Rays.
It may have taken the right-hander 150 pitches through a sloppy performance that included eight walks and six strikeouts at Tropicana Field, but he shut down a tough Rays line-up by a score of 1-0. Adam LaRoche provided the offense with a solo shot in the top of the second off Jeff Niemann, who threw a two-hitter a couple weeks ago against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Things were so out of control that A.J. Hinch had relievers warming up from the sixth inning on. However, Jackson, who is now 5-6 on the season with a 4.63 ERA, apparently refused to leave the hill.
The only other Diamondbacks hurler to toss a no-no was Randy Johnson back in May of 2004, which just so happened to be the 17th perfect game in the history of America's Pastime. Interestingly enough, this marks the third time Tampa Bay has been no-hit since last July, including Dallas Braden’s perfect game in Oakland on May 9th.

For as good as the Rays are again this year, what's with a no hitter and a perfect game being thrown at them in the last month and a half?

Congratulations to Edwin Jackson, and I'm glad the D-backs won a game for once, but don't you think 149 pitches is a lot? Even with a no-hitter going. Kinda dangerous if you ask me. Will be interesting to see how he holds up in his next start.
