Meanwhile, the Halos played some of the sloppiest ball we've ever seen from that club. They made three errors altogether, making way for two unearned runs -- the most startling was a single which eight-time gold-glove centerfielder Torii Hunter let roll right by him.
Alex Rodriguez continued his clutch playoff hitting with a one-out sacrifice fly for his seventh RBI of the postseason, giving the Yanks the lead. Hideki Matsui followed that up with a short pop-up between third baseman Chone Figgins and shortstop Erick Aybar, but the two failed to communicate and the ball dropped to the ground while Johnny Damon rounded third to score. Angels starter John Lackey? Not impressed.
The weirdest thing about this game... not one homer. Game 2 is scheduled for tonight at 7:57pm ET at the new Yankee Stadium, barring a blizzard. A.J. Burnett will take the hill for New York against lefty Joe Saunders.
Speaking of CC, check out this awkwardly-placed New York Daily News sticker. Yikes.
P.S. I'd like to give a loud shoutout to my buddy Tom (I'm his favorite sister) whose fantasy football team (I've named them Tom's Seriously Awesome Team...Seriously) is 2-2 this season. They'd be 4-0 for sure if I would've given him a proper shoutout before the season began, but I blew it. Forgive me, Tom!

El Capitan Chorizo!! Man, if I had a nickel for every fist pump.
Do they even make World Series rings to fit his fat fingers?
Let's not get all crazy with the WS talk anonymous. :)
Your buddy Tom is absolutely going undefeated from here on out. Where's my shoutout Sooze?? I see how it is.
It has been brought to my attention that Jim Rome also refers to CC as Captain Cheeseburger, which Batgirl totally invented. Anyway, since I can't stand that douche, we're going to go with our other nickname, El Capitán Chorizo.
What, not down with Rome? A man who repeats every point he makes 19 times before moving on? :)
not true. some douchebag caller on the rome show introduced "captain cheeseburger" way before! "el capitan chorizo" is pretty badass too!!!
