Join the Rayvolution

the super awesome and amazing tampa bay rays

You know you want to. We all have it in us: the desperate, yearning instinct to root for the underdog.

But are the Tampa Bay Rays really the underdog anymore? Sure, they've gone from worst to first in wins, errors, and respect. Then again, they haven't disappointed us all season long.

Such was the case Tuesday evening when the Rays crushed it once again, thumping the reigning champs, 13-4. Tim Wakefield was suddenly the "aging knuckleballer" when youngster Evan Longoria hit his rookie-record fifth homer of the postseason. The kid is ridiculous. Carlos Peña and Willy Aybar (4-for-5, 5 RBIs) also homered off the 42-year-old righty, who allowed 5 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 2 Ks before getting yanked after just 2.2 innings.

Carl Crawford? 5-for-5 with 2 RBIs, batting .500 for the series. Oh yeah, and that pitcher no one has ever heard of? He tossed 7.1 fabulous innings, at one point retiring 12 straight batters, to help the Rays capture a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

On the brink of elimination, the Red Sox will limp back to Fenway and look to Daisuke Matsuzaka -- the lone ALCS winner for the Sox -- to face right-hander Scott Kazmir Thursday night.

Meanwhile, the Rays will look to punch their first ticket to the World Series. Ever.

P.S. Big Papi's mojo can be returned to 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA 02215.

I'm happy to see Boston getting bitch-slapped, it's about time they lose something!

RAYVOLUTION! I like it. From top to bottom, this team is out of this world, and I'm finally proud to be a Tampa fan. Believe me, it's been tough up until this point!!
