Brett Myers has been banished by the Philadelphia Phillies, sent down to pitch for the AAA Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
Myers served up a big league-leading 24 bombs so far this season before being demoted -- something the NL East-leading Phillies can't afford with just 1.5 games separating them from the Florida Marlins.
The 29-year-old right-hander, who was 3-9 after giving up five bombs in just over two innings of Friday night’s 8-7 loss to the Texas Rangers, also has the sixth-worst ERA in the majors at 5.84 ERA.
