Eleven Reasons to Love Cliff Lee

Man, Cliff Lee is awesome.
Cliff Lee enjoyed yet another fantastic outing for the Cleveland Indians Thursday, striking out a career-high eleven San Francisco Giants over eight solid innings to earn his eleventh victory and help his club avoid a three-game sweep.

This marks the fourth time Lee has ended a three-game skid for the Tribe. At this point in time, I think it's safe to say we're all a little surprised (pleasantly or no) by the 29-year-old lefty's consistency. You know, he hasn't gone back to his sucktastic ways yet.

Lee (11-1, 2.34 ERA) is all knotted up with Arizona Diamondbacks righty Brandon Webb and Halos left-hander Joe Saunders for the big league lead in wins. Enjoying an All-Star caliber season is something new for Lee, who went 5-8 with a 6.29 ERA last season.

It's your lucky day. There are also eleven reasons to love Rich Harden, so don't go spreading yourself too thin. Harden, who is 5-0 with a 2.13 ERA over 11 starts for the Oakland Athletics this season, fanned 11 Philadelphia Phillies in a 2-hit, eight-inning performance Thursday.

Cliff Lee might be one of the biggest surprises of the season thus far. As a Sox fan, I hate it. As a baseball fan, I love it.
