As expected, San Diego Padres hurler Jake Peavy has landed on the 15-day disabled list with swelling and a strained muscle in his pitching elbow.An MRI on the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner showed no ligament damage, so reconstructive surgery shouldn't be necessary if the joint is properly rehabbed. Peavy said he had been bothered by elbow soreness not only in his past few starts, but in everyday life situations like opening contact lens solution and turning doorknobs.
Generally, when you can't turn a doorknob, you're going to have some trouble throwing a good slider.

As a Braves blogger, it's nice to see Chipper's countdown on there. Maybe we can sneak a little "Chasing .400" column too? Ha ha!
