Jay Bruce, whose possibility of nicknames are nearly endless (I like The Boss) went 3-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base for good measure in his highly-anticipated big league debut on Tuesday, aiding the Cincinnati Reds in a 9-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 21-year-old outfielder, chock full of power and speed, was leading the International League in hitting, with a.364 average with 10 bombs, 37 RBIs and eight stolen bags. Bruce was recalled from the AAA Louisville Bats yesterday and inserted directly into the starting lineup. Finally.
