The Houston Astros finalized their $16.5 million, three-year deal with second baseman Kazuo Matsui Sunday, just over a month after he aided the Colorado Rockies in their first ever trip to the World Series.
The 32-year-old switch-hitter, who will likely bat second for the Houston, hit .288 with four longballs and 37 RBIs last season, swiping 32 bags and scoring 84 runs -- all career bests.

The 34-year-old Miller posted a 4.86 ERA with one save in 76 relief appearances for the Astros this season while the 36-year-old Loretta hit .287 with four homers and 41 RBIs over 133 games.
Houston declined to offer arbitration to starting pitcher Jason Jennings, infielder Mike Lamb, right-handed reliever Brian Moehler and pinch-hitter Orlando Palmeiro.
