The Tampa Bay Rays have been all but quiet this offseason. Just a few days after working out a pretty huge six-player trade with the Minnesota Twins, the club signed Troy Percival to a two-year, $8 million contract.
Since their bullpen is the absolute worst in the big leagues, they can only get better from here.
The 38-year-old righty reliever, who came out of retirement to go 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 34 appearances for the St. Louis Cardinals last season, will have a shot at earning another $4 million based on performance. Al Reyes, that means your job is far from safe at the closer's spot.
Percival, a four-time All Star who enjoyed eight seasons with 30 or more saves for the Los Angeles Angels, is 12th on the all-time list with 324 and is a career 33-41 with a 3.02 ERA in 639 games with three major league teams.

Playing in the wicked hard AL East, now the Rays may surpass the 70 win mark for the first time ever. Remember, I said "may".
Yay! Here come the Rays! Of sunshine! and Rainbows!
Pete just completely emasculated the Rays. Awesome.
