The Tribe Mean Business
And business is good.
In case you don't believe in the 78-57 Cleveland Indians yet, maybe their latest 8-game winning streak will convince you.
Paul Byrd pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the Tribe in a 7-0 blanking of the once-rival Chicago White Sox Saturday night to give themselves a 5.5-game cushion over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
Cleveland's last nine-game winning streak came in June of 2005. They'll have the opportunity to match that today at 1:05pm ET with Jake Westbrook on the hill in the series finale against Jose Contreras and the Sox. Then, it's off to Minnesota to dominate another division opponent.
With 16 intra-divisional games remaining in September, it's do or die for Cleveland right now. And it looks like they're going anywhere but down.

Nice jinx, Sooze. High five!
I'm just bleeding that the Mariners are going so terribly at the moment... talk about seizing defeat from the jaws of victory!
They were 20 games over .500 a week ago!
Let's see Johan and the Twins put the beat-down on Captain Cheeseburger today!
Did Bartlett get hit in the head today or what? What's his deal?
More importantly Jake, what is Johan's deal? He just went 0-5 against the Indians this season. I just puked a little.
