People are excited about baseball in Colorado for the first time in a long time... at least seven years, which is the last time they had a winning record.
Their club has given them a chance at seeing just the second playoff berth in the 15-year history of the franchise after coasting to the longest winning streak in the big leagues this season -- 11 games.
Seriously, it can't get much more exciting than this: the Rockies open a season-ending three-game series in Colorado Friday against the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks, who have a 1-game lead in the NL West over the San Diego Padres. If the Rockies sweep, they will either clinch a ticket to the postseason or qualify for a tie-breaker to decide the division winner or wild-card team.
Along with their outstanding play, they can send a thank you card to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who they've defeated 7 times during this streak alone.

You know, Arizona's allright and all, but I'm all about Tulo and the Rocks. I wish I could see a few of those games this weekend, but I suspect it'll be all Boston/New York, all the time on our East Coast Teevees.
HOLLIDAY FOR MVP!!!
Living just north of Denver it has been fun watching the Rockies win (for once). I'm a Tigers fan, and no bandwagon jumper, but I have completely ignored them for the last few weeks because this is just better baseball being played by the Rockies.
And we all know Holliday is gonna get screwed over for MVP for that little bitch Fielder. Affirmative action and all that...
