Nobody Parties Like Detroit Tigers Fans
After a four-hour rain delay followed by a four hour and 34 minute game that ended at 3:30am, there were still several thousand fans hanging around Comerica Park to see who would score first to break the 6-6 tie between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees Friday night/Saturday morning.
It was Carlos Guillen's three-run shot that ended it all, the first he's ever hit in the middle of the night.
But the night was even longer for the Yanks, who fell to 6 .5 games behind Boston Red Sox in the AL East and three behind the AL Wild Card-leading Seattle Mariners after a shoddy performance from The Rocket.
The Tigers, on the other hand, moved within 1.5 games of the AL Central-leading Cleveland Indians and within five games of Seattle in the WC Standings.

I'm all for staying until the end of a ballgame, but 8 1/2 hours is pretty ridiculous. I applaud those poor people - at least their team won!
Agreed.
Ah, that poor boy. My ma used to put a bowl around my head to cut my hair, too.
that's way too long to hang around and watch your team lose.
