Albert Pujols is upset about not getting to play in Tuesday night's All-Star game, pouting and questioning his own manager, Tony La Russa. Puhols had this to say:
It's the All-Star game. He can do what he wants. He does whatever he wants. If I wasn't expecting to play, I wouldn't have come up here. The 2005 NL MVP and puzzle-piece to the St. Louis Cardinals' World Series victory last year, claims La Russa didn't speak to him the entire game.
Imagine the powerlessness - Pujols wanted to be the one to fly out with the bases loaded to end the comeback instead of Aaron Rowand.
La Russa countered by saying that if Prince Albert wants to be upset, that's fine. He was just trying to save one of his best hitters in case the game went into extras.
Whatever he wants to do, he can do. It's America. That wasn't the most important thing tonight.Pujols wasn't the only player to be left out of the action, which is not uncommon in the Midsummer Classic. Texas Rangers shortstop Michael Young also did not play. Neither did Gil Meche. But they don't normally let the Royals play anyway.
A six-time All-Star, Pujols is in the midst of a career-worst home run slump: 22 games and 74 at-bats. However, he is tied with teammate Chris Duncan for the most homers on his club with sixteen. Pujols is batting .310 with 52 RBIs midway through the season.

Do you think it was because Albert "Winnie the" Pujols (GOD THATS ANNOYING) gave LaRussa a twist of lemon instead of the olives he so clearly requested in his vodka martinis?
That's a logical conclusion, Marea.
What Pujols doesn't realize is that La Russa was saving him for extra innings, if that was the case. What a prima donna.
Albert Pujols = Biggest cry baby. At least he's pointing the figure right back at his own manager. LaRussa was saving his best player for the second half of the season. He didn't care about the outcome last night because it's very likely that it won't affect where the Cards in October. Sitting their cans in their Lazy Boys.
Pujols just needs to pray more
It took everything you had not to title this post "Pouty Pooholes" didn't it?
"Whatever he wants to do, he can do. It's America. That wasn't the most important thing tonight," La Russa said.
Most really importantly, Tony La Russa gave us the green light to do whatever it is we want!! For this is America!!
Seriously though--thanks for the link.
