Mike Stanton to DL, Gosling Gets the Call
The Cincinnati Reds placed veteran reliever Mike Stanton on the 15-day disabled list today with a strained left hamstring.
Stanton, who turned the big 4-0 a couple weeks ago, is 1-2 with a 4.44 ERA in a team-best 35 appearances this season. He has struck out 19 and walked eight.
The Reds recalled lefty Michael Gosling from the AAA Louisville Bats to replace Stanton on the roster. Gosling is 5-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 13 minor league starts this season.
