The Florida Marlins most recent closer Henry Owens has landed on the disabled list with tendinitis in his right rotator cuff, retroactive to Wednesday. Owens joins five other Marlins pitchers who are out with injuries, including starters Josh Johnson and Anibal Sanchez.
After taking over the closing duties for Jorge Julio, Owens went 2-0 with four saves in five chances with a 1.96 ERA in over games.
This obviously doesn't help the Florida relief corps, who had blown six saves so far and was overworked most in the majors at 130 innings.
To fill the roster spot, outfielder John Gall was selected from the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes.
