The Diamondbacks took the lead in the top half of the 10th when Stephen Drew hit a two-out single off Byung-Hyun Kim (1-0). Kim got the first two outs, but walked Chris Snyder and hit third baseman Alberto Callaspo with a pitch, setting up Drew's single that drove Snyder home. Brad Hawpe's throw from the outfield barely missed the sliding catcher.
Todd Helton and Matt Holliday led off the 11th with singles against closer Jose Valverde (0-1), but Hawpe hit into a double play. Rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki then hit a low fastball, driving in pinch-runner Jamey Carroll to tie it up. Eric Byrnes just about had it, but the ball hit him on the wrist as he dove toward the wall in a valient effort.
Tulowitzki then scored the game-winner on a Chris Iannetta grounder that Callaspo couldn't handle.
The Rockies then relied on their bullpen to get the win. Kim and 5 other releivers took control when Jeff Francis came out after six solid innings, allowing 2 runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
Livan Hernandez went seven innings for Arizona, giving up two earned runs on five hits, striking out four and walking two.
