Byung-Hyun Kim on the DL

The Colorado Rockies placed pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim (1-2, 10.50 ERA) on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a thumb injury before purchasing the contract of pitcher Zach McClellan from AAA Colorado Springs.

Kim left Sunday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fourth inning with a bruised thumb on on his pitching hand which he hurt while batting earlier in the game.

The 28-year-old McClellan has never appeared in a major league game, but has tossed four shutout innings with the Sky Sox this season. Manager Clint Hurdle plans to use him in late-inning situations.

doesn't exactly look like Kim was packing the fans in before his DL stint. That picture is great.

As a sports blogger I think it would be cool if, instead of linking to mlb.com where everyone goes anyways, you would link to recaps done by local bloggers, that would allow more blogs viewership and certainly engender good favor in return.

I'm kind of confused about what Lizzie does, because I only see posts by snooze.

Thanks for the input Corey! I link to MLB.com because that is my source for the stats, as I make a point to credit each source at the end of every post.

I like to link to other bloggers in the posts titled "Say What?" and "Babes Love Bloggers" in addition to other random posts, but I will definitely look into linking at other times.

As far as the beautiful Miss Lizzy is concerned, she has been working very hard at her real job (the NY Daily News) so she hasn't had much time for posting here. I hope to have her back here soon, though!

Yeah Rand, there's like 3 people there. I think one is his agent, and maybe the other two are his #1 fans... his folks.

Isn't "thumb injury" just fancy talk for "pitched his hand right into the ground?"
