LA Angels 5, Milwaukee 4
Kelvim Escobar pitched two scoreless innings in his first spring training start, allowing only a single to help the Los Angeles Angels beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4. The right-handed Escobar, who was 11-14 with a 3.61 ERA last season, said his left knee felt fine after the game since being bothered by tendinitis earlier this spring.
Brewers All-Star Chris Capuano allowed three runs, four hits and three walks with a leadoff homer to Casey Kotchman in 1.2 innings; his first start of the spring. Laynce Nix singled and hit his first home run of the spring in the seventh off Angels prospect Nick Adenhart.
Reggie Willits drove in the winning run in Kendry Morales with a single in the bottom of the ninth. Angels right-hander Chris Bootcheck struck out three and allowed one hit in two scoreless innings while Matt Wilhite worked a scoreless ninth for the win.
