Melvin Mora drove in four runs with a pair of doubles, leading the Baltimore Orioles over the New York Mets 6-3 on Sunday; working up a nice little three-game winning streak. His three-run double highlighted a five-run third inning against prospect Philip Humber, who gave up three hits, walked two and smoked a batter all in one inning of work. He is competing for a spot in the Met's humbled rotation, that is without Pedro Martinez.
Asked what he took from Humber's performance, Willie Randolph said, "Nothing."
Ouch. Former Oriole John Maine allowed one hit in two scoreless innings while Ruben Sierra had two hits and drove in all three runs for the Mets. Pitching for the first time in a Baltimore uniform, Jaret Wright tossed a scoreless first inning.
