Junior was in the Cincinnati Reds' lineup for the first time Saturday after breaking his left hand while wrestling with his children in December. He has been limited to taking batting practice and catching fly balls during workouts and with only eight exhibition games left this spring, he feels good enough to play.
The 37-year-old outfielder will be replaced by the speedy Ryan Freel in center field and will move to right for the first time in his career.
Since coming to his hometown team for the 2000 season, Griffey has been limited by a bazillion severe injuries, with eight different stints on the disabled list.

Again with the OLD PEOPLE TAG!
I give him until mid-May.
His decision to not keep his body in top shape and to coast on his stellar gifts have brought Griffey to where he is today. He was in the position to be one of the greatest players of any era, not just this one. Injuries happen, but when you don't train like a mad dog, well, nobody should be surprised as to what happens. If Griffey didn't have such a superior set of natural abilites, we wouldn't even be talking about him.
Wow, Joe. You make a hell of a good point, there.
