Carlos Guillen and the Detroit Tigers came to terms on a $48 million, four-year contract extension on Friday, keeping the shortstop in Motown through the 2011 season.
Acquired from the Seattle Mariners in 2004, Guillen hit .320 last year with 19 homers, 85 RBIs, 41 doubles and 100 runs scored. He is a career .289 hitter with 73 bombs and 416 RBIs.
