Geoff Geary agreed to a one-year contract worth $837,500 with the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday, side-stepping arbitration.
The right-handed pitcher was an impressive 7-1 with a 2.96 ERA and one save in 81 games last season, allowing 103 hits and 20 walks, fanning 60 batters in 91.1 innings of relief. He is 10-2 with a 3.78 ERA in 159 appearances over four seasons.
