Darrel Rasner (1-0, 1.77 ERA) pitched 6 good innings, holding the Twins to 4 hits and 1 run - a longball by Torii Hunter (23) in the second. That was pretty much the most exciting moment of the day, knowing that Torii was that much closer to 30 home runs, something only one Twin has done since 1987. Speaking of Justin Morneau, he and Jason Tyner each had 1 hit and Jason Bartlett went 2 for 2. That sums up the action for Minnesota. Even though they lost the series, Detroit and Chicago also dropped their games on Sunday, so the Twins get a break with not losing any more ground in the division or Wild Card standings.
The Twins have scored only 15 runs over their last seven games (including 6 in game two of the New York series), hitting only .217. Time to step it up, boys!
The Twins will look to start a new streak with a three game series against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field on Monday afternoon. Boof Bonser (3-5, 5.17 ERA) will take the mound against Tim Corcoran (4-6, 3.97 ERA). Luis Castillo will also return to the line up, as his mild ankle sprain has stopped bothering him. The Canadian Crusher will see some time at DH and Phil Nevin will get some time on the field, playing first base.

No mantle?
Well..a little sad about our loss to the Yanks with Garza pitching, but because the teams we needed to lose also lost, it's not so harsh. As for the game today, it seems weird to me. Not on tv, and the box scores showed not much at all, but R. White showed us the good man he is. It was a win we needed, and one I'll greatly take.
he's been a busy guy, but he did today's recap. he cracks me up beyond belief. today's win was awesome, cosidering johan goes tomorrow. looks like we'll win the series!
